SENSEI MATTHEW SCOTT BROWN - GODAN – 5th DEGREE BLACK BELT

Born in 1987, Sensei Matt Brown began martial arts training in 1993 at Bushido Dojo in Madison, Tennessee. He was a successful competitor as a youth in both kata and kumite. As a small child, he was a Gold Medalist in Karate at Tennessee Sportsfest and won the kata divison several years running at the Annual United States Eastern Wado Ryu Karate-Do Federation Tournament . Later, as an adult he successfully competed in the Tennessee Police & Fire Games.
He has won numerous non-tournament TOUGHMAN type boxing events as well as five heavyweight toughman boxing championships in Mississippi in 2009 & 2010 & 2011. His amateur full contact record in Boxing, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing Events is 50-4. He was awarded the UCC 205# MMA Championship Belt. In amateur grappling he is undefeated three times winning the Advanced Division Grappling Belt at Tournament of Champions in Bowling Green Ky. He is currently 1-0 Boxing @ 199# and 1-1 MMA @ 210# as a Professional.
He served the Davidson County Sheriff's Office for several years and as a part-time college student, he has “worked the door” at several downtown locations providing security for owners and patrons. Throughout his childhood and youth, he was a successful competitor in baseball, football, and wrestling finishing his Junior year as the TSSAA 215# state high school champion runner-up losing in sudden-death overtime. He is a constant winner of the 18 - 29 & 30-39 year old Black Belt Kumite Division and Open Kumite Division at the Annual United States Eastern Wado Ryu Karate Federation Tournament and as the Black Belt member of the Mixed Team Champions has defeated nearly all opponents.
He attends all possible additional training possible including seminars by UFC Champion Royce Gracie and Wado Ryu Grandmaster K. OTSUKA.
He is a long time Instructor at Bushido Dojo Joelton and his promotion to GODAN (5TH DEGREE) Black Belt effective 9/11/21 by Sensei Melvin S Brown Jr was approved by the UNITED STATES EASTERN WADO RYU KARATE FEDERATION & INTERNATIONAL WADO RYU KARATE DO RENMEI.
